Socialite Paris Hilton has been offered advice on how to cope with life in prison from her jailed aunt.
The hotel heiress has to report to Los Angeles' Century Regional Detention Center by 5 June (07) to start serving her sentence for violating her probation following her 2006 drink-driving arrest.
And the reality TV star has been offered advice from her aunt - her mother's half sister Elizabeth Avanzino - who recently completed her fifth stint in prison.
Avanzino says she wants to "lend a supportive role to Paris and let her realise everyone is capable of making mistakes".

Troubled pop star Britney Spears is back to her wild partying ways - the Toxic singer was reportedly seen vomiting violently in the toilets of a Los Angeles hotel at the weekend (27May07).
The 25-year-old mother-of-two yesterday (29May07) posted a message on her official website insisting she had entered rehab earlier this year (07) because she had "hit rock bottom" and was "so lost", refuting reports her stay was the result of depression or alcohol abuse.
But the superstar has allegedly returned to her pre-rehab days, after she was found slumped over a toilet in Los Angeles' Sky Bar at the Mondrian Hotel on Sunday, crying as she threw up. She was later carried out of the club by hotel staff, according to British newspaper The Sun.
Spears was reportedly overheard telling hotel workers: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Things aren't going well for me at the moment."
A source tells the tabloid, "She had make-up smeared over her face and her wig hanging off. She had a room booked at the hotel but was too ill to stay and was begging her bodyguard to take her home.
"She looked a real mess and was sitting on the floor with her head over the (toilet) bowl throwing up. There was vomit down the front of her black dress and around her mouth.".
Cameron Diaz claims she would never have plastic surgery because it is "sick".
The actress can't understand why anyone would want to go under the knife and destroy their own characteristics.
She is quoted by Britain's Daily Express newspaper as saying: "Have you seen those shows where ordinary people want to look like Britney Spears or Brad Pitt? What on earth possesses them to want to destroy their own character? To go under the knife to do that, well, it's sick."
The 34-year-old star had an operation on her nose last year to correct a deviated septum, but claims she would never have surgery for purely cosmetic reasons.
She added: "I would never have anything done. I think beauty comes from the inside. When I see women who have had plastic surgery I find it unnerving. All I can see is the surgery. The person who has had it has vanished. I don't want to look like that."

But while shooting one scene off the Greek island of Spetses, Brook sustained a minor head injury and struggled for air as her legs were strapped into her mermaid costume.
She says, "I held my breath as long as I could under water, then shot up and smacked my head on a huge Grecian column which was supposed to be part of a temple set.
"I suppose I panicked for a moment because my legs were trapped in the mermaid's fins and tail - the costume was stuck on and I was thrown into the sea with my legs strapped together.

The 26-year-old was ordered to spend 45 days in prison after being found guilty of violating her probation by driving with a suspended licence.
Her sentence, which is due to start on June 5, was halved earlier this week after she was rewarded for "good behaviour".

The 'Dirrty' singer has been given permission from the Chinese government to appear at Shanghai's Grand Stage for a June 26th concert.
A source told E! Online: "Not every foreign artist has the luck to win Beijing's approval and Christina's sexy performance had been a concern when applying for permission to perform."
It is not know whether Christina - whose Shanghai concert will be her only Chinese show during her 'Back to Basics' tour - will have to change aspects of her act to comply with China's strict decency laws.

Anna Nicole's former lover and lawyer filed the papers - naming him as the will's executor - at a Los Angeles probate court, stating her total assets to be worth $710,000.
The will - which was drawn up in April 2001 - leaves everything to Anna Nicole's son Daniel who died last September of an accidental overdose in the Bahamas.
Daniel, 20, was visiting his mother just days after she had given birth to daughter Dannielynn when he died.
Anna Nicole's ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead, 34, was proven by DNA test results to be the father of eight-month-old Dannielynn on April 10.

Paris Hilton's Behaviour Blasted By Spelling Widow.... Paris Hilton has been publicly criticised by the widow of late media mogul Aaron Spelling for her behaviour in the wake of being sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating her probation by driving with a suspended license.
Candy Spelling, whose daughter is actress Tori Spelling, has hit out at socialite Hilton for not taking responsibility for her actions.
In court earlier this month (May07), Hilton claimed her long-term representative Elliot Mintz had repeatedly informed her her license had been suspended for only 30 days and that she could still drive for work-related matters. She is currently appealing her sentence.
But Spelling has had enough of Hilton's excuses.

Hilton Annoyed By Amorous Cops.... Paris Hilton won't be winning many police friends when the new issue of style magazine Harper's Bazaar hits newsstands later this month (May07) - she claims cops pull her over just to ask her out.
The socialite, who was sentenced to 45 days in prison on 4 May (07) for driving with a suspended license, suffers a case of terrible timing thanks to a damning article in June's publication.
She says, "I think I get in more trouble because of who I am. The cops do it all the time. They'll just pull me over to hit on me. It's really annoying.
"They're like, 'What's your phone number? Want to go to dinner.' They won't even give me a ticket."
That wasn't the case when she was pulled over for driving with a suspended license in February (07).
Princess Diana’s butler Paul Burrell has been caught sticking the knife into the Royal family in a newspaper sting.
Burrell slams royals including Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince Harry, Sarah Ferguson, Earl Spencer and the man who died alongside Diana – Dodi Fayed – to a News Of The World undercover reporter.

Paris Hilton is now part of a grass-roots campaign to keep her out of jail.
In a message that went up Monday on her MySpace page and reported in the New York Post, the hotel heiress writes (in her own spelling): "My friend Joshua started this petition, please help and sihn it. i LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!"
The petition, directed to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, asks that Hilton be pardoned from her sentence of 45 days in jail for violating the terms of her probation by driving with a suspended license. The punishment was handed down in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday. An appeal has been filed.
"I urge all fans and supporters and all that are outraged by injustice to sign this petition," writes Hilton.
The petition, which had more than 900 signatures by Tuesday morning, urges the California actor-turned-governor to pardon Hilton because she provides "beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives."
Meanwhile, the governor's office hasn't reviewed the petition but has received e-mails from constituents both for and against a gubernatorial pardon, Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear told the Associated Press Tuesday.
"We'll treat this as we would any other case of this nature, but it would be premature for the governor to get involved until the individual has exhausted his or her judicial remedies," McLear said.
As for the petition, not everyone is hopping the Hilton bandwagon – entirely.
One posting on Paris's page, from a "Raven," reads, "It's so frustrating to me when famous people get off lightly for crimes that a regular person would be held full responsibility for. I don't think she should get a full 45 days though. She didn't hurt anybody and she seems very sorry. I can see letting her go without jail time if she takes some kind of classes about alcohol abuse."
Someone who is a great booster of Hilton is her publicist, Elliot Mintz, who was relieved of his duties – then was rehired Monday night. (Mintz had wrongly informed Hilton of the status of her license, he admitted.)
"Paris and I met last night," Mintz told PEOPLE on Tuesday. "I am still her media rep. She is still my client. She is also a dear friend."

Brad Pitt and lady love Angelina Jolie are doing their bit to help displaced people in the war-torn region of Darfur in Sudan, by donating 1 million dollars to three groups dedicated to helping them.
The money will go to the UN Refugee Agency, the International Rescue Committee and the international NGO, and SOS Children's Villages via the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.
UNHCR's Regional Representative for the United States and the Caribbean, Michel Gabaudian, praised the couple’s donation, and said that it showed that it went a long way in showing people in the region that they had not been forgotten.
“This generous donation comes just months after Angelina Jolie made a personal visit to a refugee camp in Chad and it shows, once again, her and Brad Pitts’ commitment to helping refugees and the displaced. As Goodwill Ambassador, Ms. Jolie’s continued support of UNHCR and those we seek to help is a powerful force in ensuring they are not forgotten,” Us Weekly quoted him, as saying.
George Rupp, president of the International Rescue Committee, added: "This donation will make a real difference in the lives of thousands of vulnerable people. We are grateful to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for remembering them."
Jolie, a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency, has visited Darfur thrice, the most recent trip being in late February.
On that trip, she met staff from SOS Children's Villages at the Oure-Cassoni refugee camp.
Speaking about her experience, Jolie had said at the time that she was "struck by the sense of hope she encountered and by the widespread desire for peace-keepers to be deployed in eastern Chad."
Singer Britney Spears has topped the Forbes magazine’s list of the world's most overexposed celebrities.

E-poll conducted the survey on behalf of the magazine, and found that 72 pct of the US population considered Spears to be overexposed, and that the number has risen by 18pct in the past five years.

Akon has issued an apology for dancing provocatively with a young girl at a concert last month.
The US rap artist was filmed dancing with the girl, who it later emerged was just 14, on stage at a concert on April 12th in Trinidad.
After the video appeared on the internet, telecommunications company Verizon pulled out as sponsor of his tour with Gwen Stefani, with whom he appears on The Sweet Escape.
In a statement, Akon said that he did not realise how young the girl was and apologised for any hurt caused.
"I want to sincerely apologise for the embarrassment and any pain I've caused to the young woman who joined me on stage, her family and the Trinidad community for the events at my concert," the 34-year-old said.
"It was never my intention to embarrass or take advantage of my fans in any way, especially those under the age of 18.

Australian pop star, Kylie Mingoue, may have found love in director, Alexander Dahm, but her friends say that the singer is lonely and worryingly near burn-out.
A source close to the singer said that when Kylie is away from the crowd, she seems to be a person, who is alone and tired.
"In her quiet moments, when she is away from the crowds and the cameras which follow her everywhere, we're seeing an altogether different Kylie these days. She is rather tired and rather lonely," the Daily Mail quoted the friend, as saying.
The source added that the singer is just good friends with Dahm, who is a married man, and that their relationship would have been different if he was single.
"And while she is genuinely just good friends with Alexander, there is no denying that she would feel entirely different if he was a single man," the friend said.
The confidante also said that although the 38-year-old wants to share her life with someone, she can’t bring herself to trust anyone after the way her former beau, actor Olivier Martinez treated her.
"The fact is that Kylie's desperate to find someone to share her life with, but after the way Olivier treated her she just can't bring herself to trust anyone," the source added.
The friend also said that Kylie is now concentrating on looking good, and ensuring that the ageing process doesn’t show.
"She hasn't really got anything else in her life, so she's obsessing about her image and making sure the ageing process doesn't catch up with her," the source said.
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Sculptor Daniel Edwards thinks Paris Hilton makes a fine subject -- as prom queen of the dead in what he says is a warning against drunken driving.
The artist has created a sculpture of the 26-year-old hotel heiress and socialite naked and dead, with cell phone in hand, legs spread and crowned with a tiara.
"The Paris Hilton Autopsy" is a statement about the dangers of drunk driving just as high school prom season rolls around, said Edwards, who also sculpted a giant head of Cuban President Fidel Castro and created a life-size nude of Britney Spears giving birth on a bearskin rug.
Hilton pleaded no contest in January to alcohol-related reckless driving. On Friday, she was sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating her probation on that offense by driving on a suspended license.
"It's really kind of a wake-up call for anybody who really pays attention to Paris Hilton, close enough that they might end up emulating her," the Connecticut artist said.
The sculpture was to go on display Friday in Brooklyn.
On Wednesday, Hilton issued a statement through an attorney saying she was "ready to face the consequences of violating probation."
"No one is above the law. I surely am not," she said. "I do not expect to be treated better than anyone else who violated probation. However, my hope is that I will not be treated worse."
Hilton's lawyers have said she was singled out for especially harsh treatment by prosecutors because of her celebrity, and they have filed a notice of their intention to appeal the sentence.

Meanwhile, the socialite, who recently claimed that she is the most iconic blonde of the decade’ and compared herself to actress Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana, has started petitioning California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to keep her out of the slammer.

Lindsay Lohan's rehab seems to have failed attempts as pictures in today's News of the World show the actress binging on cocaine.
The photographs, taken on a wild night out in Lindsay's favourite Hollywood hang out Teddy's nightclub, show the Mean Girls star snort the drug and put some up her friend's nose as the girls cram into the club's toilets.
However the pictures only show a glimpse of that night's antics, according to the pal who leaked the images to the newspaper.
"That night I saw her do more than 20 big lines of cocaine. She was still up doing drugs at 11am even though she had started about 8pm the night before," the source revealed.
And Lindsay's drug-fuelled nights on the town often lead to more antics, including bragging about sleeping with some of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors.
Jude Law, Jared Leto and Brit boys Calum Best and James Blunt are said to be some of the men that Lindsay brags to have pulled.
The 21-year-old actress checked into the Wonderland rehabilitation centre in Los Angeles in January for a 30-day treatment programme to deal with alcohol issues after she allegedly collapsed at a party after the Golden Globes award ceremony.
Yet the friend says the stint in rehab was all for show.
"Going to rehab was all for publicity. She wanted people to see her seeking help but it hasn't got her off the drugs at all."

The marriage of Madonna and film director Guy Ritchie is close to breakdown, the News of the World claims today.
Material Girl Madonna and the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels director married six years ago and have two sons together – six-year-old Rocco and newly-adopted Malawian baby David.
Madonna, 48, also has a ten-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from a previous relationship.
However the pressures of a new baby plus the criticism the pair received due to the whirlwind adoption of David has reportedly strained their relationship.
Madonna's passion for the Jewish mystical tradition Kabbala and her reportedly controlling tendencies have also led to the breakdown of the couple.
"They're in total meltdown and row non-stop whenever they see each other," a source close to the couple tells the newspaper.
"They've been at loggerheads for a while and now hardly do anything together. They're even spending more and more nights in separate bedrooms."
However the final straw was said to be when Ritchie decided not to accompany Madonna on a return trip to Malawi.
"They're a united front when their children are involved. This was clearly visible when they were pictured this week out in the park as a family. But behind closed doors they barely speak," the friend warned.

Actor Gordon Scott, who was best known for playing Tarzan in the 1950s, has died at the age of 80.
The star passed away following complications from heart surgery, according to a spokesman for St Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Scott, who was a lifeguard when he was spotted by a Hollywood producer, went on to make 24 films.
Actress Betty Thomas, who visited him before his death, said: "He opened one eye for a moment and gave me a wink."
Scott spent the last few years of his life living in a house belonging to Thomas and her husband, Roger.
"My husband has been a fan of his since he was a child. When we were in Hollywood about eight years ago, we looked him up. We invited him for a visit. He came and never left," she said.
Speaking to The Baltimore Sun, Danton Burroughs, grandson of Tarzan creator Edgar Rice, said: "He was an absolutely wonderful Tarzan, who played the character as an intelligent and nice man who carried himself well, much as my grandfather had originally written it."
During the 1954 production of his first film, Tarzan's Hidden Jungle, Scott fell in love with co-star Vera Miles.
The couple married that year but divorced four years later. After the Tarzan movies, he appeared in Westerns and gladiator films.
