Johnny Depp left a £750 tip after enjoying dinner in a US restaurant.
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star was filming his latest movie 'Public Enemies' in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, when he left the staggering gratuity after dining with friends.
A source said: "Johnny had a big dinner with his friends at one of the local restaurants. When the bill came to $2,600, he decided to leave a $1,500 tip to show how much he had enjoyed himself."
Johnny - who was staying in a hotel in nearby town Appleton - stars as John Dillinger in the Michael Mann period drama about the US government's attempts to stop some of the most famous criminals in the Depression of 1933.
Not all celebrities are as generous as father-of-two Johnny when it comes to tipping waiting staff.
Last year, Madonna, Tobey Maguire, Gwyneth Paltrow and Rupert Everett were named in a book exposing lousy celebrity tippers by former New York waitress Katherine Taylor.
In 'Rules for Saying Goodbye', Katherine writes: "Gwyneth Paltrow came in. I wanted to tell her that I had been making a list and she was on it, but Gwyneth was not stingy, only stupid. I thought she probably couldn't calculate 15 per cent."
