Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty has won the UK reality TV show Big Brother with an overwhelming 67 per cent majority.
Shilpa walked out of the Big Brother's house amid fireworks and cheering crowds. She thanked them and said "Thank you, I love you. Chicken Curry rules."
She chose a red tunic with jeans this time around as against her pink Tarun Tahiliani sari, the day she entered the house.
Not only has the actress won the prize money of 100,000 Pounds, the show has also given her international recognition and offers of all sorts have started pouring in from abroad.
She described her experience in the show as 'incredible and overwhelming.'
She also said she was proud of being an Indian and thanked all her fans who supported her through the show.
Racial slurs
Shilpa tried to play down allegations that she had been made a victim of racial abuse on the show.
In a press conference held later, she said she had made up with her chief tormentor Jade Goody and the past was now behind her.
"I really didn't know how things were perceived by people outside the Big Brother House. I saw the footage of the first time and it looked pretty ghastly. I am someone who likes to look forward in life and I want to put it behind me," the actress said.
"It may have seemed like it was bad, but I can say that Jade is not a bad person, and she didn't really contrive to be like that. So there is nothing in my heart. The day we hugged, it was all gone and forgotten really," she added.
The show's popularity suddenly jumped world wide last week.
Tens of thousands of viewers complained that Shilpa Shetty was subjected to racial bullying. In its wake, the show's viewership shot up by over five million.
The comments ranged from calling her a "Paki" to digs at her cooking.
Two days into the controversy, Shetty, although isolated from the outside world, said it was racism, only to backtrack later.
"It's truly been quite a roller coaster ride. It has taught me so much. I just want to forget things," she said.
The British and Indian governments however, felt obliged to reiterate their stand against racism in any form.
The Indian tourist government went ahead and publicaly invited Shetty's tormentor, Jade Goody, who suddenly became a celebrity of sorts, to India.

The winner of the reality show is the person who survives and is not voted out by viewers.
"I found it a lot easy to make friends while participating in the Big Brother Show," said Shilpa Shetty.
Earlier, an overwhelming majority of the viewers voted Shilpa's nemesis Jade Goody out rather than Shetty. But Goody emerged from the studio to see herself a celebrity of sorts and demonised by some.
"I am scared about going to the end of the show. I am in two minds because of the stuff that has happened to my house. I am justified in being really scared and nervous but I guess I will go to accept all the boos that I have not got before," Jade Goody, Contestant, Celebrity Big Brother.
Shilpa Shetty's mother Sunanda, sensing the star's ascending popularity, has hired UK's biggest publicist to cash in.
Shetty, who wasn't really top of the charts in Bollywood, is now globally sought after --- interviews, a cricket reality show, advertisements and who knows, even a Hollywood deal.
Naomi Campbell narrowly escaped a jail term after claiming she threw her jewel-encrusted mobile phone at her maid's head 'by accident'.
The 36-year-old model was instead ordered by a New York judge to attend anger management classes and do five days of community service.
In a plea bargain with prosecutors, Miss Campbell admitted third-degree assault charges. She accepted she threw the phone in a fit of rage, but denied she intended it to hit her home help.
Her lawyer added that she is not a violent person but in fact 'nice, generous and charitable and has been helping children all over the world'.
Miss Campbell was arrested in March 2006 after her maid, Ana Scolavino, claimed she threw the phone at her head.
The attack apparently happened after Miss Campbell accused the maid of stealing a pair of jeans she wanted to wear to appear on Oprah Winfrey's TV show.
Police said 42-year-old Mrs Scolavino needed four stitches in her head.
Miss Campbell pleaded guilty to the misdemeanour charge, but told the court the attack was an accident. 'I did assault her,' she said. 'The cell phone hit her head.
'It was an accident and I did not mean for it to hit her. I understand that Ana was hurt and I'm deeply sorry for that.'
In court her lawyer David Breitbart requested that the model do her community service inside, away from the gaze of the public - and media. He said there are fears for her safety because she has received threats and had trouble with stalkers in the past.
He told the court: 'This client is someone who has been ostracised by the press but in fact she happens to be generous and charitable and has been helping children all over the world.'
Outside court, he said: 'This is a nice woman. Just because she may have anger management issues does not change that.'
Miss Campbell was also made to pay £185 in medical costs for Mrs Scolavino. The Streatham-born model initially faced up to seven years jail and the threat of deportation.
Mr Breitbart said he would be pushing for her to do work connected to 9/11 charities, or at a hospital or school when the terms are set in March.
Last year, singer Boy George spent five days sweeping streets in Manhattan as community service - his punishment for reporting a false burglary in 2005.
Miss Campbell has faced a string of allegations of violence in the past nine years. In 2000 she pleaded guilty in a Canadian court to attacking her personal assistant Georgina Galanis and received an absolute discharge.

Mumbai, Bollywood's hottest and most talked about pair Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan were engaged Sunday.
Confirmation of this came from none other than Abhishek's father, film icon Amitabh Bachchan, at whose residence here the engagement took place.
There was no immediate word on the wedding date, industry sources said, adding Abhishek popped the question after the international premiere in Toronto Friday of Bollywood film "Guru" featuring the duo in the lead roles.
Speaking to reporters at Toronto, Aishwarya, a former Miss World, had pleaded with them not to jump to conclusions about her relationship with Abhishek, saying an announcement would be made at the appropriate time.
Aishwarya had in the past been romantically linked to actors Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi. However, reports had been flying thick and fast for the past few months that she and Abhishek were about to tie the knot.
These reports gained added currency after Aishwarya accompanied Abhishek and his parents to perform rituals at a Varanasi temple in November 2006.
Los Angeles | Dubbed "style-free and fashion deprived," Britney Spears and Paris Hilton tied for the No. 1 spot on Mr. Blackwell's 47th annual "Worst Dressed" list released Tuesday.
"Two peas in an overexposed pod," Blackwell said of the skimpy attire worn by the two celebutantes he called the "Screamgirls."

She may have looked pale and weary but at least she didn't have to be carried out of the nightclub.
The last time Britney Spears had a night out with her friends she collapsed on the dance floor.
But after a brief recuperative spell in a spa, the singer obviously felt ready for another night on the town.
Her black outfit accentuated the pallor in her skin and exhaustion in her eyes as she and one of her dancers called it a night.
Three days earlier she is said to have collapsed while drinking champagne at a New Year's Eve party.
According to U.S. reports, Miss Spears, 25, checked into the Sanctuary spa in Arizona the following day to recover.
Her parents are said to be urging her to seek therapy after a dizzying month of drinking and socialising.
"It's just been heartbreaking for her parents to watch Britney on this downward spiral," a friend said. "It's so sad."
Her stay at the spa must have done some good. On Wednesday evening she felt strong enough to go out clubbing again in Hollywood. Fears have been growing for Miss Spears since she announced her split with husband Kevin Federline, the father of her two children, in November.

"I do understand all the reasons that went behind making that decision, and I am sad to see it closing. But trust me, I get it," she wrote on her own website.
"I know I've been far from perfect. But I want you all to know that I love my fans so much.

Angelina Jolie has slammed pop superstar Madonna for adopting Malawian child David Banda in an "illegal" manner.
Jolie, who has two adopted children of her own, thinks Madonna went about finding a child to adopt in the wrong way.
Madonna brought one-year-old David to the U.K. from his home country of Malawi late last year. He will stay with Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie for 18 months before Malawian officials decide whether or not they are legally able to adopt the child.
In an interview with French magazine Gala, Jolie says, "Madonna knew the situation in Malawi, where he was born. It's a country where there is no real legal framework for adoption.
"Personally, I prefer to stay on the right side of the law. I would never take a child away from a place where adoption is illegal."
However, Jolie believes Madonna's intentions were good and is amazed at the media reaction to her adoption.
She adds, "I have been horrified by the attacks she's been subjected to. All that should count is the happiness of her little David."
A North Carolina artist intrigued by the public's obsession with celebrity has found herself feeding that obsession with a painting of actress Angelina Jolie as the Virgin Mary hovering over a Wal-Mart checkout line.
Kate Kretz has painted for 20 years but none of her previous works has garnered the attention given Blessed Art Thou, which was to show at Art Miami 2007 beginning yesterday. One reason for the attention was a posting of the painting on the popular gossip site, www.perezhilton.com.
"My intention was to ask a question and get people to think," Kretz said in a telephone interview yesterday from Miami. "I had no idea so many people would be asking a question and thinking."
The attention is startling for Kretz, who doesn't watch much television and never read tabloids until she began doing research for this painting. "I'm looking at it from the point of view from somebody from another planet - what is this about, this is so strange."
The painting - acrylic and oil on linen - depicts an angelic Jolie in the clouds, holding her newborn daughter Shiloh with children Maddox and Zahara at her legs. Below them is a checkout line at Wal-Mart, where women wait in line. The painting is for sale for $50,000 through Chelsea Galleria in Miami, which represents Kretz.
On her blog, Kretz said the painting speaks to "the celebrity worship cycle." She said she chose Jolie for the subject "because of her unavoidable presence in the media, the worldwide anticipation of her child, her 'unattainable' beauty and the good that she is doing in the world through her example, which adds another layer to the already complicated questions surrounding her status."
Kretz, 43, was an associate professor at Florida International University for 10 years before moving to Burlington, about 50 miles west of Raleigh, last year with her new husband.
With the popularity of Blessed Art Thou, her blog, which used to average 30 unique viewers daily, is getting more attention from strangers these days with 15,000 unique views Wednesday.
Blake Gopnik, an art critic for The Washington Post asked to comment about Blessed Art Thou on a Post blog, said that the painting's message is too obvious.
"It's more like a puzzle-picture than a probing work of art: Once you've deciphered it, there's not much chance of giving it a second look," Gopnik wrote. "Its van-art technique, especially, is so generic that it hardly has a thing to say that hasn't been said a thousand times before - often, much better."
But Kretz's experience so far is that the painting isn't so easily decipherable - opinions posted on her blog range from people who think she's deifying celebrities to those who believe she's making fun of the culture that deifies them.
"Kate, I love the painting and I love even more what it says to me," one person wrote. "This is very inspiring. The weird world of the celebrity cult fascinates me and repulses me at the same time. There is nothing stranger than the spaces, premises and concepts of the world we live in."
But another said, "I'm feeling a bit of resentment towards the artist for being yet one more media person to shove Jolie's useless visage in my face."
Kretz, who was raised Catholic and often uses church imagery in her work, said that the painting has become a lightning rod on the subject of celebrity culture.
"Whatever people want to foist on the painting, they are foisting on to the painting," she said.
Marilyn Manson's marriage is over.
The glitzy goth rocker's wife of just over a year, model and burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese, is seeking a divorce.
Von Teese, whose real name is Heather Sweet, cites irreconcilable differences for the split in papers filed Dec. 29 in Los Angeles Superior Court, which were posted on celebrity news site TMZ.com. The break-up was first reported by the New York Post on Friday.
Von Teese and Manson (real name: Brian Warner) were wed Nov. 28, 2005, according to the court documents. They separated on Christmas Eve.
It was the first marriage for both. They have no children.
A call placed to Von Teese's attorney was not immediately returned. Efforts to reach Manson, who turned 38 on Friday, were unsuccessful.
Britney Spears is telling her fans that she knows she's been "far from perfect" recently, but she says she's "more mature" now and will be coming back "bigger and better."
Spears writes on her Web site that she's "sad" to hear that one of her biggest fan Web sites will be closing the end of this month. The webmaster has said it's partly because of the way she's been acting.

Kate Moss' publicist has spoken out about the reports of Moss' secret wedding to Pete Doherty in Thailand on New Years day.
Obviously Moss & Doherty were in Thailand on holiday but they did not get married.
The statement which was released on Tuesday says: "Contrary to various entirely false media reports, there has not been any kind of marriage ceremony in Thailand. She is on holiday."
None the less, friends that were with the couple on the Thai holiday said that they 'were on good form & seemed really happy'.

Prince Harry has vowed to quit smoking in the New Year ahead of a sweeping army ban.
The 22-year-old prince first took up cigarettes at the age of 14 while he was still a pupil at Eton, often cadging them from older boys at the exclusive public school.
He has carried on smoking up to twenty Marlboro Lights a day ever since, even through his gruelling year-long army training course at Sandhurst.
Sources at the college said Harry could often be seen hanging around the back of his barracks lighting up and was even known to start puffing immediately after an exercise.
Cadets at the Royal Military Academy are not allowed to smoke inside the college but are permitted to do so in their free time.
Although it seems at odds with the demanding physical nature of his job, officer Harry has always insisted that his habit doesn't interfere with his health or fitness.
But according to reports, the third-in-line-to-the-throne has finally made a New Year's resolution to give up for good.
His decision comes as the Ministry of Defence prepares to ban smoking at all army barracks from March this year and army sources have suggested that Harry wants to cut down gradually before the new regulations come in.
His decision is likely to delight his father, Prince Charles, who loathes his son's nicotine habit. His wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, was herself a heavy smoker but is also believed to given up in recent years.
Unfortunately for Harry, however, his girlfriend Chelsy Davy is a social smoker, which is unlikely to make kicking the habit any easier for him.
"Harry tries not to be seen smoking in public but behind closed door and at parties he's always lighting up," said a royal source.
"His father nags him constantly about it but Harry has never shown an inclination to listen to him until now."
Harry is currently enjoying a nine-day holiday in Mozambique with girlfriend Chelsy and her family courtesy of her controversial multi-millionaire father, Charles.
