Jim Carrey Takes On Gay Prison Role.... Funnyman Jim Carrey is set to shock his fanbase with his next movie role as a family man who gets sent to prison only to fall in love with his cellmate.
Carrey, best known for comedies including The Mask and Dumb & Dumber, will star as real-life police officer-turned-crook Steven Russell in I Love You Phillip Morris.
The film is based on a book by Steve McVicker and is written and directed by the Bad Santa team of Glenn Ficarra and John Requa.
Meanwhile in other news actor Kevin Bacon has joined Frank Langella in the upcoming film version of stage play Frost/Nixon.
Frost/Nixon is a dramatic reenactment of U.S. President Richard Nixon's famed 1977 TV interview with David Frost, and has wowed audiences in both London's West End and on Broadway.
Langella and Michael Sheen are reprising their stage roles as Nixon and Frost respectively in the film adaptation, to be directed by Ron Howard.
Bacon will play Nixon's chief of staff Jack Brennan.
Ah, so we now have a trivialization of prison rape as if rape in prison was merely a benign homosexual love affair?
Figures....
