James Blunt will not face hit and run charges after a run-in with a member of the paparazzi.
It was reported that the singer ran over the paparazzo's foot in his car when he was driving away from a Hollywood party with his then girlfriend Petra Nemcova.
His SUV was said to be besieged by photographers and Blunt reportedly was unaware that anything had happened.
After the Los Angeles police department investigated the matter the attorney's office announced that no charges would be pressed.
The decision to drop the charges will come as welcome news to Blunt, who split from model Nemcova in February. Other welcome news for him is his involvement in the high profile Live Earth concert in London this summer.
